I took Isaac for a haircut today at SuperCuts.  This woman was totally charmed by him, even though he was undoubtedly her least cooperative customer of the day.  She also called her daughter over to see and touch my stomach.  They were both super nice and so excited for me to have a baby, but it's still just a little weird having total strangers feeling my stomach.

For dinner tonight I made a pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy.  My favorite thing about this photo is the three Le Creuset pots I used to make it all in.  I love the bright colors and I love cooking with them too.

Tonight we went to dinner with our Italian friend Naddia.  She just moved to CA to work full-time for Bradshaw (Charlie's old company).  We had planned to eat at La Sirena grill but only the outside seating was available and it was freezing cold, so we ended up at a Mediterranean place next door called Zov's.

I'm starting to think the new white towels in the hall bathroom were not the best idea.  Especially since this is the bathroom that Isaac uses.  The picture is not the best, but if you look closely you can see two dirty little handprints - one on each towel.  I think someone needs another lesson in proper hand washing.

We went to the Spectrum tonight after dinner and this display case was just inside the Nordstrom entrance. I'm totally in love with this darling hat.  But after looking at the price I'm not sure I can justify buying it.  Especially since I always feel silly whenever I try to pull off wearing a hat.  I'm just not as cool as my friend Amy!

Today was Charlie's first day at his new job with DKB.  He is very excited for the new opportunity, and I am very excited about his much shorter commute.  I wanted to get a picture of him before he left for work but he was not being a very good sport about it.

We don't have Dunkin' Donuts in California, but I love their Boston Cream donuts so I often find an excuse to indulge when we are traveling.  The donuts weren't that great today, but Isaac sure liked them!

When we are in Las Cruces Isaac always loves to go visit the farm animals at the University.  He wasn't in a very good mood this time, but the one thing he did think was hilarious was to see peeing pigs.  We actually saw two of them peeing and the amount of pee was quite shocking. Isaac is still talking about how he saw "two pigs going pee pee!"  Yep, he's all boy.

Other than visiting with family, my favorite thing about Las Cruces is the food.  There is a Mexican restaurant practically on every corner and having lived there for 30 years, Karl & Janelle know all of the best ones.  We went to lunch at Habaneros and I had some nachos with really yummy shredded beef and red chile sauce.

Janelle (my mother-in-law) offered to take Isaac so Charlie and I could do some shopping.  We always like to go to Dillard's to find merchandise for our EBay store.  We met back up with them later at Chuck E Cheese.  Isaac loves these roller coaster simulator rides (there is a screen up above so parents can see the children's faces).  This cute little girl wanted to ride with him too.

Today we drove to New Mexico to see Charlie's parents.  These windmills are in CA out near Palm Springs.  Charlie says they are an eyesore but I think they are a fascinating landmark.  And Isaac likes them too.  His new favorite question is "what do ____ do, Mama?"  In this case "what do windmills do, Mama?"  I told him they make energy.  He then proceeded to point out all of the windmills that had stopped moving and told us that they had no energy.

Tonight we drove out to Rancho Cucamonga for Charlie's Bradshaw farewell party.  Isaac got some stickers at the shoe store and while we were driving he says "my eyes! my eyes!"  I looked back to see this.  Such a funny kid!

As much as I loved the ICEC early intervention program for Isaac, I also loved it for me.  I made some good "mom" friends there who were always so supportive and could understand exactly what I was going through.  In the six months since Isaac graduated I have really missed having that group of moms to talk to, so it was really fun to get together with a few of them for dinner. Casey, to my left, is Miller's mom and Julie, across from me, is Nik's mom.

Isaac has become quite the seasoned traveler in his short three years of life.  Here he is enjoying his "pink Sprite" (a mix I made of cranberry juice and diet Sprite), cookies, and a trash truck movie on his DVD player.

There wasn't much snow on the ground in Utah Valley or in Price, but there was quite a bit covering the valley just outside of Price.  The picture doesn't do it much justice, but it was pretty.  I guess you can tell I am from CA to be impressed by just a couple inches of week old snow!

My family moved to American Fork right before my senior year of high school.  I spent a lot of time with my grandma that summer and I remember her taking me to Taco Amigo several times for a Root Beer Freeze.  It's still one of my favorite places to eat in Utah, mostly for the nostalgia, but also for the Freezes and the fry sauce!  Isaac & I  went with my parents and Wendy for lunch today.

I am turning out to be just as mean of a mom as my own mother.  I don't buy the sugary kid cereal for Isaac, so he only gets to eat Fruit Loops as a treat when we are traveling.  Here he is enjoying his breakfast at the Hampton Inn at Thanksgiving Point.

Isaac & I flew to Utah to visit my family.  Long Beach airport is very small and quaint.  Isaac thought it was really cool that there was no jet bridge, and we got to walk outside and up the stairs to get onto our airplane.

Isaac is going to miss his class Valentine party while we are in Utah, so we put these together tonight for him to hand out at school tomorrow.  Each child gets a Cars Valentine card, a little bag of M&M's and a tiny colored slinky.  His teachers get cards and Reese's hearts.

Charlie has been wanting an iPad for awhile so today he finally bought one.  It's a big hit!  I've only used it for a couple of minutes but Charlie & Isaac both love it.  Here they are playing a Toy Story game where you move a parachuting army man around by tilting the screen.  Isaac could not stop laughing - especially when he crashed.

23 weeks pregnant.  Don't you love the awkward stomach grab?  And can I just say how much I hate maternity clothes?  I pulled out the bag of stuff from my last pregnancy and was pretty much horrified by most of what I wore.  I've bought a few new things (including this dress), but honestly the selection in stores is not much better than what's in my bag!

This morning we went to the Balboa Peninsula.  Charlie ran while Isaac & I went for a walk.  We always park at 15th Street, right near the playground, and let Isaac play for awhile after our workout.  He likes to be pushed really high in the swings, and he thought it was hilarious when Charlie jumped out of his swing mid-air.

Tonight we went to the Irvine Spectrum to have dinner and walk around a bit.  Isaac could see the ferris wheel from the freeway and was so excited to go on it.  Here we are up near the top of the wheel - "as high as the moon" according to Isaac.

I've had an iphone for nearly three years, and somehow I went all this time without playing Angry Birds.  I'm not typically much of a "gamer" but this one has got me completely hooked!  You use a slingshot to aim various birds at different structures made of glass, wood, and stone in an attempt to kill all of the green pigs.  Sounds a little nerdy, but it is totally addictive.  This is a screenshot from my iphone... that counts as a photo, right?

For our YW activity tonight we made Valentine's.  We used the candy conversation hearts and glued them onto cards to write funny/cheesy notes using the phrases on the hearts (like a candy gram).  I did this a couple of times with roommates at BYU and it is always fun to see what everyone comes up with. I also brought a bowl of fresh fruit with a yummy fruit dip to eat for our snack.

Poor Isaac was sick today.  He woke up a few times in the early morning saying that his belly hurt, and then around 5:00 am started throwing up.  I always feel so bad for him when he is sick and just wish I could do something to make him feel better.  He kept crying and saying "I don't like it, I don't like it!"  So sad!  He threw up a few more times, but by 10:00 or so he was feeling better and wanted to eat breakfast.  He was fine the rest of the day, but I put a sheet over the couch just in case.  And he enjoyed wearing his "cuddly" pants and relaxing in front of the TV all day.
